The Dukes of Burgundy – Dazzling and Dastardly

, 2:00pm – 3:15pm
Hastings Centre, Hastings

The province of east central France was home to the Dukes of Burgundy from the early 11th until the late 15th century. The capital of Dijon was one of the great European centres of art and science, a place of tremendous wealth and power. Our speaker Carole Petipher will follow the rise of the dukes and flamboyant lifestyle including art, fashion and gastronomy.

Carole Petipher is an accredited Art Society speaker and has over 20 years’ experience as a guide and lecturer on combined history and art tours in France. She uses art in all its guises to explore the characters who shaped France and likes to delve behind the scenes to discover hidden truths.
Doors open at 1.30. Car parking available.
