The Scientist (Hopeton Overton Brown) is one of the most influential figures in Jamaican dub reggae. A studio engineer turned sonic alchemist, he first gained fame at King Tubby’s studio in Kingston in the late 1970s, pioneering the art of remixing and reshaping reggae tracks into immersive, otherworldly journeys. His Halloween-themed 1981 album Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires became a cult classic, celebrated for its eerie atmospheres and heavyweight dub treatments. Four decades on, The Scientist continues to tour internationally, reinventing his work live with unmatched creativity.
Featuring Mykki Tuff one of the UK’s most energetic reggae and dancehall MCs – known for his sharp wit, high-voltage stage presence, and magnetic connection with audiences. With deep roots in the UK sound system tradition, he brings the perfect balance of hype, humour, and heart to guide the Halloween crowd through The Scientist’s deep sonic world.
