Join us in Hastings Central Library for this unique, free event presenting the digital archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute (BFI) and Screen Archive South East (SASE)
You’ll hear archival insights and watch highlights from BFI Replay, before finishing with a special screening of the short film Hastings: Holiday Town of Contrasts. A charming film from 1972, which showcases Hastings as a holiday destination, just as the lure of holidaying abroad was beginning to dominate. From beaches, to bingo, carnivals, castles and the Town Crier contest, holidaymakers can enjoy it all!
BFI Replay is a free-to-access, digital archive uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people.
Please be advised that filming and/or photography will be taking place during this event.
This event is supported by the BFI Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery Good Cause funding.
