Note: Event information is mostly provided by users, venues, musicians, etc, and may be subject to change. Please check the relevant venue’s website or their social media for the most up-to-date information.

Established in 1988 in memory of Hastings fisherman Jimmy Read, this race challenges entrants to cycle up Crown Lane—the Old Town’s steepest road—on Jimmy’s original butcher’s bike without leaving the saddle.

The bicycle is provided. Entrants can turn up, make a donation and take part, with collections supporting local causes. Jimmy’s bicycle has been restored by the BBC’s The Repair Shop.

Children are welcome with adult supervision. Bringing dogs is not advised.
