The Brahma Sistaz Live at Barnaby’s Lounge A journey through songs, stories, and shared memories. “Our set will be a complete mix of genres and will include old jazz tunes alongside say the Kinks or Beatles” The Brahma Sistaz began over 15 years ago when neighbours Dicky and his musical partner Richard discovered a mutual love of French Gypsy Jazz and Django Reinhardt-inspired music. What started with Macaferri-style guitars and informal garden sessions soon evolved into performances across East Sussex, from intimate pub venues to popular open mic nights. Today, The Brahma Sistaz bring a unique blend of lesser-known gems, classic jazz, blues, folk, and carefully chosen covers spanning the 1960s to the present day. Their repertoire includes songs that feel instantly familiar yet are rarely heard live, creating a warm atmosphere filled with nostalgia, humour, and unexpected musical discoveries. Audience participation is always encouraged, and their relaxed, engaging performances have become a favourite with listeners who appreciate great songs, storytelling, and genuine musicianship.
