Residential Art Classes
Tutor Louise Whitham
The drawing painting and printmaking classes take place in the historical studios and home of Louise Whitham artist and owner at Grand Parade. She says we call it the Titanic Arts Club in honour of the history of the house, which was once owned by Edith Bowerman a militant suffragette who survived the Titanic ! The Suffragettes actually had meetings at Grand Parade Louise’s screen prints reflect some of this history.
Louise adds ‘I am a professional mixed media artist and arts educator. I was the head of Textiles and have taught all ‘A’ level art subjects for 20 years in an outstanding Sixth Form School. I set up the Titanic Arts Club in July 2017 and have held exhibitions and workshops I plan to be inviting local artists to talk at the workshops in 2019 We have already had a lovely stained glass workshop the results of which which can be seen in the Titanic Arts Facebook page
