A proper dose of old-school rhythm & blues, classic soul and good-time live music comes to Barnaby’s with the Paul Huggett Band.
Paul Huggett has been part of the Hastings music scene for many years, performing and singing both with bands and as a solo artist, as well as writing his own material. He’s also a familiar voice on Hastings Rock, where his radio career began after lockdown and has since grown to hundreds of shows.
But this is Paul away from the radio desk and back where he belongs, in front of a live audience.
The Paul Huggett Band mixes old-school R&B, classic soul, upbeat originals and a few carefully chosen surprises, with an easy-going, energetic approach designed for a room full of people rather than a room full of algorithms. Barnaby’s previous shows with the band have described exactly that combination of rhythm & blues, soul and original material.
Expect familiar grooves, strong vocals, plenty of character and the sort of music that makes sitting perfectly still increasingly difficult.
Paul and the band are firmly rooted in the Hastings live-music community too, appearing at local venues and community events including the 2026 Nearly on the Beach concert.
