The first in a new monthly series of film screenings hosted by Mark Poole. Silence Is Golden: 1895–1910 returns to the birth of cinema with a specially selected collection of short films from its first fifteen years.
Poole will introduce each film with context and stories from the earliest days of filmmaking, followed by questions and conversation. Whether a devoted cinephile or simply curious about what audiences watched more than a century ago, no specialist knowledge is required.
Tickets cost £6. Film buffs can also try to identify the production company behind the still on the event poster for half-price admission, followed by a second question for the chance of free admission.
