An art party marking an exhibition by Markus and Tessa Thonett and guests as part of Coastal Currents 2026. The exhibition runs from 30 August to 4 October.
Markus Thonett creates intricate Card Cuts, working with a scalpel and mounting board on subjects both local and wider. He also presents his Greenish Paintings, made on repurposed plywood with a focus on reducing environmental impact.
Portrait painter Tessa Thonett combines oils, palette knives and brushes. Alongside commissioned portraits, her Grace n’ Grit series celebrates sensitive and strong contemporary women through vibrant, characterful work.
Hastings singer-songwriter Danny Horn performs throughout the Art Party, combining traditional musical forms with contemporary ideas and distinctive storytelling. Donations for the live music are appreciated. The private view also coincides with Markus Thonett’s birthday celebration.
