A Load of Poets is a well-established, free, monthly spoken word open mic night in Hastings. This Book Festival Special event promises to be a feast of poetry!
Usually at our events, poets perform their own work, but on Thursday 10th September we will all be reading the work of other poets – classic, modern, famous, obscure, international, local, whoever you like. Please say a little about your chosen poet and why you like their work.
Everyone is welcome, from experienced performers to first-timers. Please come along and if you want to read to the group, ask the hosts (Tim Barlow or Steve Brown) for a slot on the night – we don’t pre-book the slots, you can just turn up.
Also, we’ll have a mini-book fair; bring your poetry books to sell, swap or give away.
The book fair will begin at 6pm and the poetry readings at 7:30pm. Hope to see you there, whether you want to perform or just watch, chat and enjoy a drink.
There is no need to book, however, it would be great if you could register your interest as it will enable us to keep you updated on the event.
