For more than two decades, the musicians behind the Jamie Harris Jazz Trio have been sharing stages, swapping songs and putting their own distinctive stamp on some of the finest music ever written. Playing together since 1999 , the trio brings a rich musical tapestry woven from blues, jazz, soul and rock ‘n’ roll , alongside a handful of original compositions and a generous helping of imaginative reinterpretations of classic songs. This is not a band interested in reproducing records note for note. Instead, they breathe new life into familiar favourites, finding fresh grooves, unexpected twists and moments of pure spontaneity. At the heart of the trio is Jamie Harris , a powerful vocalist and percussionist whose expressive performances have taken him around the world. Jamie toured internationally with legendary British jazz pioneer Trevor Watts, one of the founders of the influential Spontaneous Music Ensemble and a towering figure in European jazz. On bass is Roger Carey , one of the most respected musicians on the UK live music circuit. Roger’s remarkable career has seen him perform with blues legend Long John Baldry, progressive rock outfit Three Friends, acclaimed jazz vocalist Liane Carroll and, today, he continues to perform with folk-rock icons Steeleye Span. Completing the trio is guitarist Andy Ellis , a wonderfully versatile player whose musical adventures have taken him through blues, rock, skiffle, singer-songwriter projects and tribute performances. Equally comfortable delivering delicate jazz phrasing or gritty blues guitar, Andy brings colour, humour and exceptional musicianship to every performance. Together, the trio creates a sound that is warm, soulful and wonderfully unpredictable. One moment you might hear a blues standard, the next a jazz-infused interpretation of a rock classic, followed by an original song that feels as though it has always belonged in the set. They anticipate each other’s ideas, leave space when it matters, and know exactly when to take a song somewhere unexpected. The Jamie Harris Jazz Trio brings that rare chemistry to every performance. Honest, soulful, witty and deeply musical, this is Friday night live music at its finest. Arrive early, order dinner before the music starts, settle in with a cocktail, and enjoy an evening where blues, jazz, soul and rock ‘n’ roll all share the same table. π·π·πΈβ¨
